TikTok Gifter-to-Viewer Ratio Statistics 2026
TikTok told a room of creators and agencies in New York on 24 April 2025 that its livestreamers were collectively earning $10 million a day from virtual gifts. It has never said how many of the 30 million daily livestream viewers actually send those gifts. This page collects the published figures that bear on the TikTok gifter-to-viewer ratio and marks clearly where the data stops.
TikTok Gifter-to-Viewer Ratio: Key Numbers
Is There a Published TikTok Gifter-to-Viewer Ratio?
No. Neither TikTok, Ipsos, nor Streams Charts publishes a figure counting gifters as a share of livestream viewers.
What exists are separate measurements: a daily viewer count, a daily revenue total, and a survey of self-reported gifting behaviour. Each uses a different base, and none of them can be combined into a ratio without inventing the missing denominator.
The rest of this page reports each of those measurements as its source published it. Anyone modelling gifter counts from these inputs is producing an estimate, not a disclosed statistic, and the modelling assumptions behind session-level gift conversion benchmarks matter more than the headline number.
How Many People Watch TikTok LIVE Each Day?
TikTok representatives Yannick Luna and Merzia Cutlerywala gave the audience figures at an April 2025 mixer at the company’s New York headquarters, reported by Digiday.
TikTok did not state whether these counts cover the US only or the global platform, and Digiday did not specify it either.
| Metric | Figure |
|---|---|
| Users watching TikTok livestreams daily | Over 30 million |
| Creators going live daily | Over 400,000 |
| Creator revenue from livestreaming, per day | $10 million |
| Creator revenue from livestreaming, prior 30 days | $63 million |

The two revenue figures do not reconcile with each other. Both came from the same presentation, and neither TikTok nor Digiday published a reconciliation, so both appear here as stated.
TikTok Gifter-to-Viewer Ratio Inputs: Where the Gift Money Lands
Of the $63 million reported for the 30 days to April 2025, TikTok said 80.4% went to creators with fewer than 50,000 followers.
That splits the gift pool by creator size, not by gifter behaviour. It says nothing about how many viewers sent the money.
| Creator follower band | Share of TikTok LIVE gift revenue |
|---|---|
| Fewer than 50,000 followers | 80.4% |
| 50,000 followers or more | 19.6% |

TikTok also told the room that top-performing creator networks can make $3 million per month, and that its agency tiers run from Training Camp at $0 to $40,000 in monthly revenue up to Growth above $800,000.
How Many TikTok Users Have Tried Gifting?
Ipsos surveyed 500 US adults aged 18 to 49 for TikTok between 26 June and 3 July 2025, split into 300 TikTok users and 200 non-users. Participants had to already be aware of livestream gifting on some platform to qualify, so the sample is pre-screened rather than representative of all TikTok users.
Among the 300 TikTok users surveyed, 68% had tried gifting on TikTok LIVE and 50% said they were likely to gift in the next month.
Two other figures in the same paper use different bases. Awareness of livestream gifting reached 85% among social media users surveyed, and 1 in 3 monthly TikTok users surveyed recognised that TikTok LIVE offers a variety of virtual gifts.
TikTok’s own 2025 estimates, published inside the Ipsos paper and based on Q1 2025 rewards data against US Bureau of Labor Statistics median income, put more than 60,000 US creators above the median part-time monthly income and said 1 in 5 US creators receive rewards the first time they go live.
Why Viewers Gift on TikTok LIVE
Ipsos ranked five reasons. Respondents could select more than one, so the shares overlap and do not sum to 100%.
| Reason for activating a LIVE gift | Share of respondents |
|---|---|
| Show appreciation for the creator’s content | 35% |
| Enhance the viewing experience with interactive elements | 34% |
| Stand out or be noticed within the community of viewers | 34% |
| Engage with the livestream | 32% |
| Celebrate a creator milestone | Ranked fifth, share not published |

Three points separate the top motive from the fourth. Ipsos also found that more than 40% of surveyed TikTok users who gift describe gifting as a distinct way to engage with creators.
TikTok LIVE Watch Time Behind the Gifter-to-Viewer Ratio
Streams Charts recorded 31.43 billion Hours Watched across the platforms it tracks in Q2 2026, up 8% on Q1 and the largest quarterly total in its records.
TikTok LIVE and Twitch both finished within 1% of their Q1 2026 totals. YouTube supplied the growth, passing 15.5 billion Hours Watched on the back of the FIFA World Cup.
The quarter before was the outlier. TikTok LIVE lost nearly 12% of its Hours Watched in Q1 2026, a decline that began in late January and ran into early February.
Streams Charts noted the timing aligned with the legal and technical separation of TikTok’s US segment under the USDS structure, and stated that a direct causal link remains unconfirmed. Quarterly watch-hour totals are not viewer counts, and the distinction matters when reading concurrent viewer benchmarks alongside them.
What Creators Keep From Each Gift
Digiday reported TikTok takes a 50% cut of gift proceeds, with creators receiving roughly $0.005 for each Diamond they exchange.
TikTok’s Creator Academy describes a different structure. Scaled LIVE rewards lets selected creators collect up to 53% of LIVE rewards, built from up to 40% in per-LIVE missions and up to 13% in weekly missions, with a $1,000 weekly cap on the Creator League component.
| Rewards component | Maximum share |
|---|---|
| Per-LIVE missions | 40% |
| Weekly missions | 13% |
| Combined ceiling | 53% |
Source: TikTok Creator Academy, Scaled LIVE rewards, accessed July 2026
Per-LIVE percentages depend on stream duration, new unique followers and monetisation-policy adherence. Weekly percentages depend on how often a creator went live, engagement and Creator League rank. Viewer-side pricing sits in a separate TikTok Coins breakdown, and gifting revenue behaves differently from live shopping conversion on the same streams.
FAQs
What is the TikTok gifter-to-viewer ratio?
There is no published ratio. TikTok reports over 30 million daily livestream viewers and $10 million in daily creator gift revenue, but never a count of active gifters, so any ratio you see is a third-party estimate.
How many TikTok users have sent a gift on LIVE?
68% of TikTok users surveyed by Ipsos between 26 June and 3 July 2025 had tried gifting on TikTok LIVE. The sample was 300 US TikTok users aged 18 to 49, pre-screened for awareness of livestream gifting.
Do Reddit creator threads match the published TikTok gifting data?
Reddit posts report individual stream results, not measured samples. No published dataset tracks Reddit-reported gifting rates, so those figures cannot be compared with TikTok’s $10 million daily total or the Ipsos survey.
Why do Reddit users say small creators earn most of the gift money?
That claim traces to a real disclosure. TikTok told Digiday in April 2025 that 80.4% of its $63 million in 30-day LIVE gift revenue went to creators with fewer than 50,000 followers.
How much of a TikTok gift does the creator keep?
Digiday reported a 50% platform cut at about $0.005 per Diamond. TikTok’s Creator Academy sets a ceiling of 53% under Scaled LIVE rewards, combining 40% from per-LIVE missions and 13% from weekly missions.
